PARTICIPATION RULES

 

1. General information

 

DANCING INN International Dance Championship is international family friendly dance competitions for dancers of all levels and all ages in all dance styles. The goal of the organization is to bring young, talented dancers together during the competitions. Winners get promoted via social media. It is the perfect way to put yourself in the spotlight! Participants from groups, dance schools, and individual dancers are welcomed.

Please read all information carefully. Any questions can be asked via the contact form on our website.

When entering DANCING INN International Dance Championship competitions you are agreeing to all the terms and conditions below including any admin charges, time limits and etc.

By entering a DANCING INN International Dance Championship competition you agree that all the rules are final, and our staff will not engage in any correspondence with a parent/teacher once a rule has been broken. Rules are not up for discussion to be changed.

Anyone who want to be part in the DANCING INN International Dance Championship dance event is required to fill out a DECLARATION OF INFORMED CONSENT. Dancers registered in the system will not be allowed to participate without a signed declaration. It can be downloaded from HERE, after filling out, please send us in a scanned form by email.

 

2. Rules & Regulations

 

2.1 By submitting data on a request / registration for participation, you consent to all personal data being filled in this registration portal to be processed and used for organizational purposes in connection with the dance format. By registering for a competition in DANCING INN International Dance Championship all participants agree to the rules and regulations published on the website of www.dancinginn.com.

 

2.2 The leader of each dance studio, under his/her sole responsibility, declares that all participants have a sufficiently good state of health state for physical fitness and that the minor participants have obtained permission from parents or legal guardians.

 

2.3 The coach/leader of each group who signs this application form declares under his/her responsibility that dancers, parents, tutors, or guardians have been informed about and have approved each point and rule/regulation, and the terms and conditions for participation as stated here.

 

2.4 DANCING INN International Dance Championship, dance competition organizer represented by ( INTERNATIONAL DANCE OPEN 33 LTD ) reserves the right for any type of documentation, broadcast, filming, promotion and distribution of material from the event without paying rights and compensations to the participants, coaches and parents of the participants. Video recording and taking pictures with corresponding equipment including DSLR is strictly forbidden unless authorized by the Event Organizer INTERNATIONAL DANCE OPEN 33 LTD.

 

2.5 Cell phone is allowed to be used for taking photos and videos.

 

2.6 If necessary, DANCING INN International Dance Championship reserves the right to change the schedule or cancel any competition due to reasons beyond the control of the organizer (national quarantine, sudden bans, power outages or similar things)!

DANCING INN International Dance Championship competitions are entitled to run up to one hour ahead/behind of schedule. In case of earlier or delay, updated information will be posted on the Facebook page as well as on our Instagram account. It is your sole responsibility to ensure you are aware of the times of your performances, no responsibility will be taken by DANCING INN International Dance Championship for missed performances. Any competitor not backstage when called will not be able to perform out of schedule so this will result in missing their routine.

 

2.7 Please leave changing areas as you found them, any damage/mess made by your school will be invoiced for the damage or cleaning necessary.

 

3. REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION FEE

 

3.1 All registrations must be made by 30th of October 2024 All dance clubs/studios/choreography schools/independent/individual participants can take a part of the competition. Registration entries are processed in the order in which they are received & paid, places are limited, so please enter your entries into our system early to avoid possible disappointment. Registered choreographies  but not paid after immediate registration do not guarantee participation in the dance competition. Priority for appearance will be those who have been paid. DANCING INN International Dance Championship reserves the right to reject registered but unpaid entries. 

 

3.2 Payment of the participation fee is made only by bank transfer in Euro or BGN. Please contact us to prepare for you an invoice so you will be able to arrange the payment.

 

3.3 DANCING INN International Dance Championship reserves the right to terminate the acceptance of applications earlier than the announced initial registration deadline. This will only happen if the competition days are filled with the maximum number of dances earlier than the announced deadline! Registered but unpaid dance choreographies/performances do not guarantee participation in the competition!

 


3.4 All participants are allowed to compete with only 2 SOLO's performances but unfortunately the same participant will not be allowed to compete in the same dance discipline with two performances. For example the participant is not allowed to perform twice  in Ballet Repertoire, Jazz, Lyrical, Open/Show Dance and etc.

 

3.5 It is permissible to participate more than once in group, formation and production choreographies, 50% of the dancers being in the same dance discipline and age group.

 

3.6 Dance fees

  • Solo - BGN 70 per dance
  • Duet/Trio – BGN 40 per dance per participant
  • Group / Formation / Production – BGN 30 per dance per participant
  • DANCING INN International Dance Championship a compulsory fee - BGN 20 per dancer, per year
  • Audience - free of charge ticket entry

 

3.7 If already registered participant does not attend the competition for reasons beyond the control of the organizer, the participation fee is non-refundable.

 

3.8 The organizer reserves the right to refuse registration of a participant at its discretion.

 

3.9 All registered competitors in the data base of the dance format DANCING INN International Dance Championship declare that they give their consent to the free processing of their personal data and that of their child/children for the purposes of the competition, and guarantee their truthfulness through the person who made the registration, as well as through their parents/guardians .

 

3.10 The diplomas that the participants will receive will be written as their names are entered in the registration form. Please double check for mistakes as we do not promise to be able to make corrections at the moment during the event.

4. DANCE LEAGUES

 

4.1 А League - in this dance league, competitors who are actively engaged in dance art, regardless of the style of performance, must be registered. These are dancers who practice 4 and over astronomical hours a week, study in a choreographic school, actively train in dance studios, etc. The league may register participants who train for fewer hours, but whose technical level is considered to be good and suitable for this league.

 

4.2 B League - in this dance league can be registered competitors who are amateurs/ hobby dancers and have a weekly practice of up to 4 astronomical hours. These may be children who study in schools, community centers, school groups, dance studios, etc.

4.3 The age of each participant is calculated as of the date of the competition. DANCING INN International Dance Championship has the right to request a document to certify the age of the participant/s.

 

4.4 Directors and/or coaches are not allowed to come on stage nor to hold up signs or give signals to dancers on stage during a performance unless the participants are in the youngest age categories ( Baby & Mini ).

 

5. Age category for groups, formations and productions

 

5.1 To be able to sum the average age of the participants in a group performance, add the ages of all the dancers participating in it and divide by the total number of participants in a duo / trio / group / formation / production. All averages should be rounded down to the nearest whole number. The average age of each entry cannot fall more than one age division below the age of the oldest dancer in the choreography, regardless of the actual average age.

 

6. PROGRAM / SCHEDULE

 

6.1 The schedule / Start list will be sent by email no later than 7 days before competition. Please remember to provide us with an active email address. Once received, you will have 48 hours to review and make final adjustments, after which the schedule cannot be changed. We will try to accommodate if you have the same / same dancers not performing back to back so they have time to prepare for their next performance on stage. Transfer of already requested choreography/performance from one dance style to another dance style is paid in addition to the basic entry fee. Change for one performance is BGN 20. Example: you have registered a choreography in the Lyrical dance style and after an already closed portal you have decide that you want to change it to the Open dance style. In this case, an additional change fee is required.

 

6.2 All applicants must be in the hall where it is announced that the event will take place and be prepared for their performance one hour before the scheduled time from the already sent timetable. Entrance on stage should occur directly after the routine’s announcement. Participants should leave the stage immediately after taking their bows.

 

7. JUDGMENT

 

7.1 The judging panel consists of 3 persons who are specialists in the field of dance art. The judges evaluate each performance, and the maximum total number of points that a performance can receive is 120 points.

 

7.2 The jury evaluates according to a point system, with the highest total determining the winner of the respective dance league, age group and discipline. The point system is from 1-10 for each criteria group. The judging panel includes 3 judges. Each judge can award up to a maximum of 40 points. The maximum number of points for one performance is 120 points.

 

  • Technique (technical qualities of the dancer/s) from 1-10 points
  • Choreography (composition, vocabulary of choreography, correspondence of music with dance) from 1-10 points
  • Performance (quality of performance and musicality of the dancer) from 1-10 points
  • Show (costume, image, artistry, interpretation) from 1-10 points

 

7.4 In case of an equal number of points, it is possible to have two ranked in the same place.

 

7.5 Scores from the choreographies of all dances entered in the competition will be processed and sent to a file to all club leaders no later than 7 working days after the end of the competition.

 

8. MUSIC

 

8.1 Please refrain from using music with profanity and/or that is not age-appropriate.
All music files must be in mp3. format. 

8.2 Every music number must be provided on USB also as a backup in case of technical difficulties. Our DJ will not adjust the speed of the music or make cuts in the music. DANCING INN International Dance Championship is not responsible for USB with music left at the event.

 

9. Props and Costumes

 

9.1 General Props are allowed if used as part of the routine. The maximum prop height allowed depends on the venue. There is a total of 2 minutes maximum for setting up/breaking down all props on the stage. The studio is responsible for cleaning the stage after the performance in less than 1 minute. No dangerous props may be used such as fire or knives. Live animals are strictly prohibited. Props or objects of any kind mustn't leave any residue on the stage such as liquids, gels, aerosols, glitters, confetti, paint, sand, powders, etc. International Dance Open is not responsible for props used at the event.

 

9.2 Costumes must cover the intimate parts of the dancer’s body during the whole performance. Intimate parts: buttocks, bust, and pubic areas. Make-up and costume must be age and gender-appropriate, and they must suit the discipline in which they are used. Make-up and costume may never be offensive to the public or other competitors. Music must also be appropriate for the age division of the dancer/s. If religious or political symbols are used as decoration and/or costume, they must suit the theme and choreography in which they are used. Such symbols must always be in good taste, and they may never be offensive to the public or other competitors. Personal jewellery should not be worn unless it is a part of the costume. The total image that a dancer creates should be within the limits of good taste and not be offensive to anyone in the audience.

 

9.3 DANCING INN International Dance Championship is a family event. There will be no tolerance for inappropriate language, songs, costumes, or gestures. All choreographies and content must be appropriate for family audiences and any content considered to be in poor taste or failure to comply with any of the above will result in performance or studio disqualification. All competitors, teachers, studio owners, family members, and audience members are required to show respect, courtesy, and sportsman-like behavior to all competitors, staff, judges , etc. at all times during the competition. We aim to create a healthy competitive environment in which dancers can enjoy themselves while gaining valuable performance experience as well as learning the nature of healthy competition and enjoying their experience. We reserve the right to remove anyone from an event if he/she is hindering the achievement of any of the above goals.

 

9.4 Any persons in the audience exhibiting unruly behavior during the competition will be reprimanded and may be escorted from the venue. If any member of a dance school/studio (parent, participant, coach, dance director, etc.) does not comply with the rules of participation during the competition day/days, the organizer has the right to disqualify the entire club and deprive it of participation without right of return of the participation fee or payment of any benefits.

 

10. INSURANCE & ACCIDENT

 

10.1 Any performer competing in a dance competition takes certain inherent risks. These include, but are not limited to sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and broken bones. Participation in this competition indicates the acceptance of such risks by performers. Therefore by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold International Dance Open, its officers, directors, officials, staff or employees responsible for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them while in attendance and/or participating in any activity related to DANCING INN International Dance Championship. DANCING INN International Dance Championship and the staff are not responsible for personal injury or property loss to either contestants or spectators.

 

10.2 Insurance costs for participants, companions or the audience are not covered by the organizer.

 

10.3 The organizer does not assume any responsibility for accidents, injuries or the health of the participants, coaches or their relatives and etc. during the competition days.

 

10.4 The organizer is not responsible for any loss of costumes, props and personal belongings of the participants, relatives, coaches or the audience.

 

11. AWARDS

 

All participants will receive a medal / medallion of the dance format as a sign of respect for the hard work and desire to perform on stage


– Large acrylic medals (10 cm), personally prepared for the dance format and diploma, for the prize trio in SOLO, DUO & TRIO both dance leagues A & B
– Trophy / Plaque and diploma for the dancers in the top three in Groups, Formations and Productions in  both dance leagues
– 3 Big trophy's for the biggest dance clubs/studios.
